International Certificate

Due to the completion of requirements for the International Studies Certificate, I was able to receive the International Certificate. I am looking forward to attending a study abroad trip to Japan in May. I met the foreign language requirement for the certificate from taking four years of Spanish at Seminole High School.

Out of the classes I took to receive the International Certificate, my favorite course was Human Sexuality with Dr. Anna Vick. I struggled during the beginning of the course but through hard work and great advising, I received an A. This course discusses the vague topic of sexuality. I learned that there are different views on sexuality. Culture has a huge affect on the interpretation of certain aspects of sexuality. I enjoyed this course because I was able to look at certain controversial topics from a different viewpoint. I learned that some cultures have a third gender whereas, in the U.S. there are only two. I would recommend that others take this course and participate in the events the International Program offers.
